Minutes from CWG meeting Tuesday 4th April 2010

1 ) Christine Rutherford Opened the meeting by asking for any achievements attained since the previous meeting (please see below for full list of achievements made).

2) Christime Rutherford Asked if any progress had been made on the development of a new poster for the CWG group to be displayed.

3) Tom Radford Confirmed he was willing to have a play with the poster. He asked me to despatch photo’s of Broomfield tavern for inclusion (Which I promptly forgot to do until I began looking at the minutes…. sorry Tom… expect email soon).

4) Tom Radford Has installed wordpress on his laptop and offered to perform a demonstration on the July meeting. He asked for anyone interested to bring their laptops for the demonstration and to have wordpress installed on their PC.

5) Chris Carter Asked if anyone had any information on the website Youwriteon to follow up with rumours over the internet raising concerns over its reputation.

6) Sheila Gladsby Commented that Youwriteon has also been victim to Cliques developing. One bad or good review would result in a like for like review of writers work. As such it has to be questioned if the comments would be impartial or useful at all.

Conclusion

–    Tom Radford to perform a tutorial on wordpress at the next meeting and to add it to any interested parties laptop
–    Tom Radford to create a new poster for the CWG group.
–    Chris Carter to  send pictures of the Broomfield Tavern (less said the better….. failing mark)

Readings were then heard from –

–    Sheila Gladsby read from the Phil Brown book the Time Crystal.
–    Terry, Paul, Christine and Tom read their work based on the challenge set by Christine at a previous meeting.

Achievements

–    Ann Evans is to attend the Young Readers festival visiting four different schools. Ann has also two pieces published in Collectors Monthly.
–    Sandra Shannon has had a piece published in the Freelance Market News on sending tips for getting published in magazines.
–    Christine Rutherford has received a Certificate of Merit from the Nuneaton Festival of Arts.
–    Mike Boxwell has been filming down in Cheltenham for what looks like a screening in October for his TV series.
–    Phil brown has had volume two of his Time Crystal series published in three different formats. Ebooks  are available at http://www.timecrystal.co.uk
